IU, BTS, and Taeyeon are the 'most loved artists of the past 20 years' on Melon


The results of an analysis of more than 100 million 'playlists' accumulated over 20 years have been revealed

Melon, Kakao Entertainment's music platform, announced the results of its analysis of 'playlist' data accumulated in users' music drawers for over 20 years on the 24th.

According to Melon Data Lab's analysis, the total number of playlists created by Melon users over the past 20 years is 102 million. A total of 12.84 million songs by about 1.13 million artists are included here. The total number of times it is included is about 8.15 billion.

The artist with the most songs in 120 million playlists is IU.

The number of playlists containing IU songs found is 16.97 million, of which the number of songs included is 91.85 million. This is an overwhelming number, accounting for 16.6% of the entire playlist.

BTS came in second with 68.1 million songs added to 9.5 million playlists.

Taeyeon was added to 35.35 million times in 11.14 million playlists, setting a record for the second highest number of playlists after IU.

Paul Kim's 'Every Day, Every Moment' was recorded as the most played song in music playlists. 2.13 million Melon users added the song to 3.928 million playlists. The song has been on the Melon Annual Chart TOP 100 for 7 consecutive years since 2018.

The second most played song was IU's 'Through the Night'. The song was added to 3,438,000 playlists by 1.92 million Melon users.

Third, BTS's 'Spring Day' was added to a total of 3,071,000 playlists. The song is the most streamed song of all time on Melon and the song that has stayed on the annual chart for the longest time (8 consecutive years).
