American singer-songwriter Bekuh BOOM is at the center of controversy after alleging she was subjected to unfair treatment during her time working in Korea.
In a recent post on her account, Bekuh BOOM claimed, “Around the age of 18, I endured ongoing verbal abuse and control as a condition tied to a recording contract. When I informed the label of my pregnancy ahead of signing the contract, they told me that ‘having the child would end my career and life,’ and presented termination of the pregnancy as a condition.” She further alleged that after refusing and returning to the United States, she was even charged for her flight expenses.
Bekuh BOOM also took aim at BLACKPINK. She stated that while working on the group’s track “Typa Girl,” she was told she was being included due to her comparatively lower compensation. She additionally claimed that Lisa’s solo track “Money” was released without prior consultation with her, and that the profit distribution was unfavorable. Bekuh BOOM added, “All the BLACKPINK members were aware of the situation, but none of them protected me,” and expressed agreement with a fan comment suggesting the members should have defended her.
However, fans have responded with confusion to these allegations. Many noted that the claims are one-sided and lack concrete evidence, emphasizing the need to wait for an official statement from the agency involved. Some also pointed out Bekuh BOOM’s past copyright disputes with a specific company, suggesting the possibility that this could be a retaliatory disclosure, especially given that Beyond Music had previously acquired her copyrights.
Above all, fans questioned why BLACKPINK members were singled out, arguing that they are also artists under management and have no obligation to intervene in such matters. Reactions included comments such as, “There is no reason for BLACKPINK to take sides and create conflict,” “They have no duty to defend her,” and “Why shift responsibility onto BLACKPINK?” Some also noted that, realistically, teenage pregnancy and childbirth could impact one’s future career.
Bekuh BOOM is an American songwriter and producer who debuted at the age of 18. She entered the K-pop industry in 2014 and has worked with a range of artists including Taeyang, BLACKPINK, WINNER, and Jeon Somi. She is particularly known for contributing to major hits such as “Kill This Love,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” and “Ice Cream.”

1. I seriously hope BLACKPINK sues, what is she even doing?
2. Looks like she just wants to get famous
3. What kind of company asks a songwriter to get an abortion… even a regular office job wouldn’t go that far, seriously
4. Oh wait, I thought Teddy composed it, was it this person? Or were they a co-writer?
5. Huh? What does this have to do with BLACKPINK?
6. Can you write the headline properly? I swear anyone can be a journalist these days, can’t even summarize right
7. If it’s true it’s really unfortunate, but I don’t get why BLACKPINK is being dragged into this… exposing the label though, I support that
8. BLACKPINK are younger than the songwriter though… and they were all adults when they debuted… didn’t she say she got pregnant at 18 and left the company? Then how did she end up collaborating with that same company multiple times later if things ended that badly?
9. Which label even asked her to get an abortion, and why is BLACKPINK suddenly getting dragged into this out of nowhere;; I seriously don’t get why she’s going after Jennie… and yet she’s been working just fine with producers who were at YG/The Black Label until recently, no?
10. Why keep working with that company in the first place? Even if you try to pick out an issue, the only thing here seems to be Lisa’s song. If she was unhappy with the split, shouldn’t she have just not participated? As long as it wasn’t used without permission (and I don’t even get what she means by “released without consent”), why blame others for a decision she made herself
